From the Desk of ACDIS Canada
Dear Members and Healthcare Professionals,
It's time for our bi-annual newsletter to share the latest updates from ACDIS Canada.
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is expanding in healthcare, and the impact to clinical documentation improvement (CDI) is no exception, as discussed in the ACDIS Research Recap recording. It is exciting to have the opportunity to watch how AI will transform the world of CDI in the healthcare space. This edition of the ACDIS Canada newsletter focuses on AI technology and how it can be beneficial to CDI. ACDIS provides articles, podcasts, and the latest edition of the CDI Journal that focuses on AI and how it impacts CDI. Please note that an ACDIS membership is required to access this journal.
The ACDIS CDI Leadership Council Report: AI Impact on CDI is available on the main ACDIS website, along with an article on Maximizing Productivity in CDI: The AI Advantage at Yale New Haven Health. ACDIS has technology standards available for review as well.
As these resources have a US focus, if you’re interested in contributing to the increase in available Canadian resources, please contact the ACDIS Leadership Team.
We look forward to connecting with you at the Spring 2025 ACDIS Canada meeting on June 16, 2025.
All the best,
Your ACDIS Canada Leadership

The Solventum™ 360 Encompass™ Computer-Assisted Coding System
The Solventum™ 360 Encompass™ Computer-Assisted Coding System integrates computer-assisted coding (CAC), clinical documentation improvement (CDI), quality metrics, and analytics into one application to capture, analyze, and advance patient information across the care continuum.
Solventum™ 360 Encompass™ Computer-Assisted Coding System integrates and streamlines clinical documentation and coding workflows, so coders and CDI specialists can work from the same content, thereby reducing duplication. 360 Encompass enables you to review documentation, create and send queries and code in the same application, streamlining workflow.
This technology helps support the CDI specialist and coder by highlighting information that may be missed during regular chart reviews and allows the user to send a query to the physician for clarification or missing diagnoses for complete code assignment. The system leverages Solventum’s NLP to review the content of documentation and identify key quality measures, such as mortality and hospital harm. This gives the opportunity to improve data quality and patient outcomes. The result is one system that improves the accuracy of the patient data, while facilitating collaboration between coders, CDI specialists and physicians.
